#97 on the list- Cagney as George M. Cohan: "My Father thanks you, my mother thanks you, my sister thanks you and I thank you" in 'Yankee Doodle Dandy' reminds me of one of the old comics who reiterated the lines and added "..and an aunt in Schenectady sends her regards".
It might have been higher, but there are many on the Left who passionately hate Heston for his defense of a certain Constitutional right that they hate.
Tim Roth comes to mind. The actor who was in Heston's final Apes movie. He was rude to Heston and unprofessional due to this.
“You think when you put clothes on an ape you make him a dancing partner." Jackie Gleason to Julie Harris in "Requiem for a Heavyweight", another one of my all-time favorites.
@ D.Luthor who said... "It might have been higher, but there are many on the Left who passionately hate Heston for his defense of a certain Constitutional right that they hate."
Damn, somebody forgot to tell all those lefties (democrats, some of my family members included) that hunt, target shoot, and ACTUALLY OWN handguns, rifles, and the ammo that goes with them (AND watch and enjoy Heston movies) about their ALLEGED HATE for Heston and that 2'nd Amendment.
Also, I doubt your leftist family members enjoyed Heston's final Apes movie. The one I am referring to. Few liked it. The friggin hyperbole award goes to the one with the most caos.
RN: Here is some of the basis for my "frigging hyperbole"
From IMDB:
"British actor Tim Roth found it difficult working with Charlton Heston on the remake of Planet Of The Apes - because of their disagreements on gun laws. Roth, who is anti-gun, is strongly opposed to the legendary screen star's stance in their favor - which made it difficult when the pair had to work together in the movie. Roth says, "I have great disagreements with everything he stands for. The run-up to working with him was very difficult for me, because I have children and the gun issue is terrifying to me. It's very difficult and they know they were very wary at the studio, but Tim Burton talked me down and talked me through it."
Sounds like Roth had a sort of psychotic break inspired by an irrational gun phobia that was so extreme that it made him panic in the presence of someone like Heston.
The rest of my "hyperbolic" statement is based on experience from people I have personally talked to.
As for your experience, RN, I guess it is a difference between the moderate, reasonable Democrats you know, and the hardcore loony progressives like Roth.

My favorites:
"leave the gun....take the cannolis"
"keep your friends close....and keep your enemies closer"
From that same movie, there was also, "It's a madhouse, a madhouse!", one of the lines that Phil Hartman used to use when imitating Heston on SNL.

Damn DL such frigging hyperbole.
Banned from Contra O'Reilly?
You aren't related to Tim Roth, RN.

Roth would love working with Ted
Nugent...
Nugent's position is exactly like his music; totally lacking in subtlety.
