Here We Go Again

I fear that Mr. Obama may have backed himself into yet another corner on foreign policy. Just like he did with Afghanistan being the "ignored war" and then once as President having to back the sucker up, so, too, I fear that he may done the same with Syria "crossing the line" now with chemical weapons (the death of those 150 evidently being far more egregious than the previous 80-90,000). Of course, it doesn't help that you always have hard-core interventionists like McCain (who always seems to want to shoot first these days) and Graham continuously prodding him and, yes, I do smell some capitulation on that front, too. Oy Vey.

Do you think Vlad Putin has any respect for,or fear of Obama?

Obama needs to keep his pie-hole shut and not get us involved in any more Middle-Eastern crap. That would be my advice anyway.......So, what do you think of Bill Ayers now saying that Obama needs to go before a war-crimes tribunal?

Me, I love it because it creates a major-league Sophie's Choice for progressives. Embrace the thought because it's said by one of the most radical hard-cores, or reject it and continue to defend what is an obviously floundering Democratic President....Hm, what to do?

Syria policy? What Syria policy?

Obama's "lead from behind" policy is biting him square in the ass.Putin spanked him last week and Biil Clinton took him to the woodshed over his lack of balls dealing with Syria.

For many, or perhaps not, the choice is clear.

Elect Gary Johnson President in 2016... Or, settle for more of the same old same old.

Whoahh!

I don't think that we should get involved, Russ. I mean, yeah, maybe if we could get a clean shot at Assad we take the son of a bitch out. But other than that, I really don't see any good guys on either side and the cost in blood and treasure just ain't worth it, in my opinion.

He certainly has my vote again, Les (especially if my other options are Hillary and some neocon/social-con retread).

I agree. And no doubt the founding would as well.

Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya, drones into Yemen, Pakistan, etc.. I'm just getting very weary of it all and so are the troops, I'm certain.

If Obama sends any troops to Syria, that will be the second country he has taken us to war against that did not attack us.

This is not true for George W. Bush, despite the claims of the hard left (Afghanistan: significant involvement of the government there in the 9/11 attack. Iraq: Saddam's regime attacking our patrols in violation of the cease-fire).

And Les and Will: I accept your arguments that there were/are much better ways to handle the problem of these two terrorist nations than George W. Bush handled it.

I hate to sound like I'm always cutting the difference but I recognize now that Sadam pretty much had to go. I just wish that President Bush hadn't de-Baathified the country and disbanded the military in that those 2 things really strengthened the Iranian bastards.
