Uncivil Liberties

I agree with Mr. Olbermann that the recently passed Arizona law involving immigration no doubt DOES go to extremes, that it probably will in fact end up impinging on civil liberties, etc.. I just wish that this same Mr. Olbermann would occasionally show this same level of concern for those ranchers/farmers on the border who are terrorized LITERALLY DAILY, the bulk of those hard working health-care workers who end up losing their jobs whenever an overburdened hospital goes belly-up down there (never mind the lack of care that such a situation produces), etc.. It's like, please, help me out here? Does Mr. Olbermann just not understand that this is a complicated issue, an issue that doesn't necessarily lend itself to such a hackneyed political viewpoint? Hm. So much for that vaunted Cornell education of his, huh?

As I stated, I disagree with the Arizona law. My only wish is that partisans like Olbermann (on the left) and Limbaugh (on the right) would start to address this issue more maturely. The President (ditto the previous President) seems to want to put forth a comprehensive approach to the problem. If in fact he does this, I will support him. If, however, he doesn't.....

Sorry crusty but the people who had just won the Civil War against the traitors to the US Constitution in 1865 would beg to differ with your stupidity;

Funny part, the congress was majority republicans back then.

136 seats out of 193

and

39 seats out of 54 seats in the senate.

So the republicans (back when they actually cared about civil rights) said any person crusty, too bad they abandoned that principle from the 1968 southern strategy forward ....

I would prefer that career politicians like the republican crowd stop pretending to defend the US Constitution while actually crapping all over it.

Stop claiming we need to actually reform something while at the very same time filibustering and blocking any and all attempts at such reform.

Since they have 14 years of control in the house and eight year of control in the white house and did absolutely NOTHING, they should STFU and let people who are willing to actually do something to proceed.

US citizen

1. Born in the US citizenship is automatic.

2. Birth from 2 US citizens abroad is automatic.

3. Birth from 1 US citizens if;

A. The citizen parent lived at least five years in the United States before the child's birth
B. A minimum of two of these five years in the United States were after the citizen parent's 14th birthday.

citizenship is automatic.

4. Naturalization


A person who was not born a U.S. citizen may acquire U.S. citizenship through a process known as naturalization.


None of these definitions claim any person like the US constitution grants with the republican approved 14th Amendment.

My fear is that the law could eventually lead to racial profiling. And I really don't think that it's a partisan issue. Jeb Bush, Linda Chavez, Marco Rubio, and Lindsey Graham (the guy who everybody but me and Chris Matthews seems to hate) have also voiced various degrees of opposition to it. I usually hate agreeing with the smug Mr. Olbermann. But, yeah, on this one, I really kind of have to.

Did I get mad? Nope,and I'm not mad now...in fact I'm pretty damn content,kind of happy livin in the USA.I've got freedom,have made a couple bucks,have decent healthcare,have a wide circle of friends,knocked two strokes off my handicap the past year,I'm about to light the grill and throw a ribeye on,got a nice red zin to go with it and to top it off this Sat. is the first Sat. in May,you what that means.....Kentucky Derby day.
So am I mad? Hell no.You do seem to have a bit of pent up anger though.Must be tough carrying the weight of all humanity on your shoulders.
