Telegraphing You Hunches

O'Reilly's up to something, folks. I'm not exactly sure what it is, but those wheels of his (such that they are) are definitely turning. First of all, he seems to now be a full-fledged member of the George W. Bush revisionary tour, arguing in his "Talking Points" many of those same lines that the administration itself has been uttering; "we haven't had a terrorist attack in the last seven years", etc......................................................He also seems to have made the leap that it was Bush's harsh interrogation techniques that have, more than anything, made us safer. It has been through these coercive measures, he continues, that we've been able to get the necessary intelligence to thwart any and all terrorist attacks.......................................................And, yes, folks, here's where Obama enters the equation. This, I'm saying, in that O'Reilly fears that Mr. Obama will ultimately end these coercive measures and, hence, leave us vulnerable to future terrorist attacks. It will be Obama's fault if we get hit again, in other words...................................................Wow, huh, talk about laying the groundwork? I mean, seriously, the guy's decided a priori that the next American tragedy should be a God-Damned partisan thing. And he does it over the issue of torture (something that most experts say is useless, that the actual people who did it to KSM said didn't give us anything useful), too. Oy Vey!..........................................................P.S., Maybe Bush does deserve some credit for us not getting hit (I kinda credit luck and the Atlantic Ocean, myself). I'm not necessarily disputing that point. I'm just saying that torture wasn't the main factor here. That's all.

Here's a New Year's present, Will. The Bizarre Life and Angry Times of Bill O'Reilly from Alternet.

What a completely arrogant ass...

If I had lived in New Orleans, I would have gotten in my car and driven the hell out of there as soon as the national weather service gave warning." In case the reader missed the point, Bill says that the dead in New Orleans were "either too dumb, too lazy, too mentally challenged, or too unlucky to have provided themselves with basic protections.

If O'Reilly really went to El Mozote after the massacre, he saw not an "alleged" abuse but raw "evil,"...By any standards, even O'Reilly's, this was pure evil. O'Reilly was there. He saw it face to face. And it made no impression on him at all, for the childish, contemptible reason that this particular slaughter of women and children was committed by people on the team he happened to support. So much for the O'Reilly theory of morality. He has none, and more importantly, he doesn't want to know.

Wait until you read the entire article. John Dolan, the article's author, brings up a good point:

O'Reilly, born in 1949, was of the generation that came of age during the most intense point of the hippie era. I was curious about how he would handle this part of his life, because I've always wondered what right-wingers did during the '60s. How did a young authoritarian dweeb like Ken Starr cope with the spectacle of Woodstock? What did the young Rush Limbaugh do after Kent State? Where was Tom Clancy during Watergate?

Good questions, huh? Have a happy New Year. Only 20 days...

Why on earth are you people obsessed with Bill O'Reilly? If you dont like him turn the channel, there's always Olbermann to suit your fancy.

I've never seen any of you take a shot at Randi Rhodes who before she imploded was certainly a much bigger fool the O'Reilly.

Hi guys. I guess the main problem I have with O'Reilly is that while he claims to be nonpartisan, he only goes ballistic over Democrats. If he just was honest about what he was up to, I'd probably be a little easier on him. Just for the record, CC, I've been very critical of Olbermann, too, his on-air biases, etc.. Thanks for the article, Stella.

CosmicCowboy, when are you going to start your blog? I'm not obssessed with O'Raillery: I never watch him.

I will not take any shots at Randi Rhodes: she was a soldier and has great insight into politics. Bigger fool than O'Reilley? What about Dittohead announcing people with drug habits should be in jail for the rest of their lives? There's implosion for you. And a bigger fool.

Leave Randy Rhoades out of it. Until his untimely death he was arguably one of the greastest guitar players ever. And I know that Ozzy misses him terribly.

IrOnY RaGeD said...

BTW, speaking of "political insight" who's that teenage boy following Olbermann on PMSDNC?

Hey Volt, nice catch on Randy Rhoades.

Who is this Stella that seems to have popped up out of no where?

She's a defender of that screaming hate monger Randi Rhodes?

Was'nt it the aforementioned Ms.Rhodes who in one of her usual drunken stupor's took a tumble and bopped her empty head on a curb.

Has Ms.Rhodes gotten another job since that power of the air waves dumped her?

Nice heroine you have there Stella....says reams about you.

Hey Volt, check out a site called
"chickaboomer,"its a political meadia blog.

Also,if you want something that suits your conservative nature try
Serr8d's Cutting Edge, this guy has posted a fictitional interview with Caroline Kennedys maid thats absolutly funny.

"Hey Volt, nice catch on Randy Rhoades."

Well, I know I've thought it a few times but you were the first one to actually say it on a blog...LOL

"Was'nt it the aforementioned Ms.Rhodes who in one of her usual drunken stupor's took a tumble and bopped her empty head on a curb."

I thought I heard on the news channels she was jumped by some rabid right wingers?

BTW, Hope you had a nice Christmas and New Years Rusty...
(I will look at the sites you suggested)

Same to you on the holidays Volt.

I've been pretty busy the past week or so,but today I took a short ride through LC.I'm telling you that bunch has a real dislike for poor Will.In fact they are nicer to me and I treat them like crap. Will must have twisted someones tail over there,

IrOnY RaGeD said...

Rusty,

I think they all have some kind of abused woman syndrome over there.

If you're nice to them they crap on you, and if you treat 'em like shit they can't get enough of you.

Is there a name for that? It's kinda like Stockholm syndrome...

Rustyridesagain said...

I think the term you're looking for is masochistic....I'm pretty sure that one wraps around the LC bunch....including the fair one herself.

IrOnY RaGeD said...

LOL, I dunno Rusty, they all seem to think we're all the same person anyway.

Oddly enough, Bart knows who I am and STILL thinks I'm lying about it.
Of course I know who he is too, I've often thought of just calling him up to say hi. I wonder if that'd freak him out?

Rustyridesagain said...

Yea Volt,I think they all get together every November in Dallas and go up to the grassy knoll and look for shell casings.

SDtella's good folks, guys. She's liberal who doesn't hate moderates. She even likes some conservatives. And she has an open mind (unlike the LC group -Yeah, they definitely hate me LOL, though Mike did say some nice things of late), a mind that seems to embrace things other that politics from time to time. Give her a chance. Maybe you guys can be like James Carville and Mary Matalin. And, besides, Clif doesn't like her. That alone is good enough for me.

Allowing the FBI to do it's worl which Bush did not let it do before 9/11 contributes to the lack of a new attack.
It's an enforcement issue, not torture.

Will "take no prisoners" Hart said...

Agree totally.

"Allowing the FBI to do it's worl which Bush did not let it do before 9/11 contributes to the lack of a new attack."

Hello, Earth to Cliffy....

Aren't we forgetting Jamie Gorelick's "WALL" enacted during the Clinton admin.? She should've been brought IN FRONT OF the 9/11 commission instead of being one of the chairs of it.

Sorry, if you're going to hate your country, do it without re-writing history.

IrOnY RaGeD said...

AND it's most certainly NOT an "enforcement issue". It's a MILITARY issue.

Will "take no prisoners" Hart said...

The military does have a role. Absolutely. I just kind of prefer a more "surgical" approach. And when we do do a large military operation, I much prefer the Powell over the Rumsfeld doctrine. I don't know, I guess I'm in-between Clif and Voltron on this one.

Dolt

Bush's people told FBIs folks to ignore information related to 911 BEFORE it happened.

The wall is in your mind, and I'm not "Cliffy" you inbred trailer park moron.
