My Favorite Movie Line Ever

It's in "Goldfinger", the part where Goldfinger and his henchmen are just about to torture James Bond. Bond, ever so macho, of course, has to show his fearlessness by saying, "What, you expect me to talk?" To which Goldfinger, he, not to be outdone, billows back, "No, Mr. Bond. I expect you to die!"

I can't comment on your post because I'm not a Bond fan and know not of what you speak. And we all know the subtlety of irony is lost on me. But I am so grateful to you for commenting on my post. Partly because I'm being hounded by K, the ever so ardent Hillary supporter. I'm now almost afraid to check to see who's commenting. And when I see it's you, I know it won't be an angry rant. Thank you.

Utah, I like the other K better. Remember, the one from Franz Kafka's "The Trial"? Actually, I'm not that big of a Bond fan, either, just the early ones with Sean Connery; Dr. No, Goldfinger, Thunderball. Not exactly Chekov but, still, entertaining enough. Hey, keep your chin up, O.K.?.......................Poetry Man, you are THE man. Thanks again for stopping. P.S. Really like your entries on environmental issues. Interesting stuff.

Yes, Will, I completely agree. That K.

I'm going to enjoy the beauty of my garden for awhile. Maybe I'll take you on a tour of the place.

Did somebody say Chekov?

My favorite line is:

"Excuse me, Sir. Can you direct us to the Naval base in Alameda? It's where they keep the nuclear wessels...

Nuc..le..ar wessels..."

What movie(?) is that from, Voltron? I don't have the foggiest. I left a post for you the other day (pertaining to Mikey). Have you read it? I'm needing your insights on that fellow.

Hi Will,

That was from "Star Trek IV - The Voyage Home"...

As far as insight into Mikey goes,
he's kind of like a Manic-Depressive.

He has his mild agreeable libertarian side, and then a wild psychotic raving liberal side, and he can switch between the two rather unpredictably.

Sometimes within the same post, right? At one point he said he ageed with me, only to call me a liar two lines later. Interesting.

The swings are much worse on Lydia's board though. When he's in his mild libertarian state I find there's much we could agree on.
However he almost always goes into a far left liberal rant soon after.

It's almost as if he has to insert some lunacy to maintain his liberal street cred with Lydia's crowd.

I honestly don't think he's quite as liberal as they are, but is trying to "belong" or something.

Will "take no prisoners" Hart said...

I think he "belongs" elsewhere. LOL

I'm in a hurry got a chess tournament and a big poker game tonight, but i think what voltron said is fairly accurate............my position is essentially a cross between a Libertarian and a liberal.

I STRONGLY believe in personal freedoms, smaller less intrusive goverment and fiscal responsibility, that said i also believe we need our government to take only those steps neccessary to insure we have free markets and promote the public health and welfare.

See i'm NOT a pro regulation tree hugger guy, but I do believe we NEED a certain amount of regulation to protect the poor and working class and insure all the good paying jobs dont leave for overseas. I've been making rouhly 70% annual returns over the last 5 years and mu net worth has gone up over 500% and i've been an Exxon Mobil share holder for the past 12 years. I also own several guns and STRONGLY support the right of law abiding citizens yo own guns........in fact I strongly support the entire Bill of Rights and the Constitition something this Rogue administration CLEARLY oppose.

The reason I think we NEED natioonal health care is not because i favor big government or additional social programs that increase the tax burden because i dont its because :

1) currently our health care syustems rewards denying coverage and letting the poor die to decrease the surplus populaion.

2) because we are losing good paying manufacturing jobs to Canada and abroad because companies can save substantial amounts by relocating to countries that either provide or dont offer healthcare.

I also believe we need our government to ONLY provide tax breaks to thos energy companies increasing production and/or investing in viable alternative sources like wind, solar, lng, clean coal, nuclear etc.....BUT I do not believe in instituting a windfall profit tax.

As for me being a partisan, i've been bashing Clinton since January, in fact i've probably worn out my welcome o several sites (possibly Lydia's doing that)...........i do not like Clinton at all, i would rather have her than McSame but truth be told i'd rather have Ron Paul than Hillary...........i've also been bashing Pelosi and Reed and MANY of the democrats for being spineless as volt can attest..........why do you think i've NEVER registered as a regug.

I'm not a rabid partisan who HATES repugs will, my best friend is a repug, half of my close friends i play poker with are doctors, lawyers, hospital administrators who are all rerpugs and the few times we have discused politics we have always been civil and respectful.

See the repugs used to be for personal freedoms, small government and fiscal responsibilityy, the current version of conservatives clearlyu are for none of those..........now the Dems get painted as tax and spend which i dont care for either but thats better than borrow and spend..

honestly will the repugs have been the ones that have in my opinion been the blindly loyal parisans supporting the presidents failed [policies...........the dems have either been spineless constantly caving into repug smears and fear mongering or they also seem to cling to failed partisan policies........further with liars and spineless politicians like Hillary, Pelosi and Reed, you really dont know what they stand for.

But as far as critizizing dems, i have critized Pelosi Reed and Clinton for a long time and i have never like LBJ, i think he likely played a role in the JFK assassination, I think he destroyed our economy with his reckless spending when he escaled Vietnam and put foth a ton of social programs........he created the inflation we felt in the 1970's and gave the south to the repugs........now Nixon and ford had terrible economic policies as well but the inflation that happened in the late 1970's was initiated by LBJ and contined by Nixon and Artur Burns policies.

Like I said Will, i wrote this post very fast, i apologize if its rambling, i wi;ll be back to discus things with you in more detail tomorrow, ,or early in the week.

Like Bart said, I am not opposed to revisting my previous positions and admiting i was wrong if that was the case.

I may have misjudged you when you came like a house of fire and immediately started insulting people and declared me a blind;ly loyal parisan, without even reading any of my posts that clearly contradicted that conclusion.

I believe i find the current two party system as [problematic as you apparently do.

Hi Mike. Thanks for stopping by and addressing some of these issues. It sounds like you (ala me) are a hard guy to categorize. Look forward to hearing more of your comments in the future. Thanks.

BTW, I do like the movie quote you used..........but one of my favorites is in Kiss Of Death, when Nicholas Cage says "You Fuck With The Bull You get The Horns"

Will "take no prisoners" Hart said...

That sounds pretty to the point, too. Ouch. I think that movie is a remake, BTW. Richard Widmark was in the original.
