Joan Fontaine was one the most beautiful and talented actresses of the 1930s and '40s. Her performances in such classic films as "The Women", "Rebecca", "Suspicion" (for which she won an Oscar), "Jane Eyre", and "The Constant Nymph" were as stunning as any of those of her sometimes much more heralded contemporaries (her sister, Olivia de Havilland, being one). And so, yes, for me it was quite disappointing not just that she died last December (for that was to be expected at age 96) but that there was barely a mention of it in the media. I mean, how frigging sad and off the charts superficial is that, folks; 4-5 minutes of non-Kardashian coverage, unattainable?
