On the George Zimmerman Trial 7
So, is George Zimmerman a racist? Don't know. What I can tell you, though, is that the FBI interviewed nearly 40 people and the only one who was willing to say anything even remotely untoward toward the dude was some wayward cousin. I can also tell you that a) the fellow is 1/8th black himself, b) has in fact mentored numerous young black children, c) came to the defense of some older black fellow who had been treated poorly by local police, and d) took a young black chick from Barbados to his senior prom...................................................................................And even in terms of his actions on the night of Trayvon's death, yes, Mr. Martin indeed was black. But he was also walking SLOWLY...IN THE RAIN...ON THE GRASS...LOOKING INTO PEOPLE'S WINDOWS (or at least that's what Zimmerman alleges). Is it not at least within the realm of possibility that Mr. Zimmerman was profiling by behavior that night?............................................................................Of course, even if Mr. Zimmerman WAS profiling by race (ditto, him getting out of his vehicle), a) that isn't against the law and b) it certainly doesn't give Mr. Martin the right to commit a felonious assault against the man.

...according to Mr. Zimmerman, and dead kids can't tell their side of the story.
Zimmerman passed numerous lie detector tests, fully cooperated with law enforcement, and didn't lawyer up. That, and all of the forensic evidence supports Mr. Zimmerman's rendering of the story..............Other facts - a) The cops lied to Zimmerman and told him that the incident was being registered on tape and Zimmerman's response to that was, "Thank God." b) Zimmerman told the police right off the bat that he was screaming for help and he did it well before he knew that there was an audio. c) That Goode witness stated that Trayvon was on the top and administering "ground and pound". d) Trayvon had a full 4 minutes to get to his destination (less than 100 yards away) and instead decided to confront Zimmerman. e) The forensics clearly indicate that Martin was on the top in that the shirt had to have been dangling for it to have shown the type of bullet hole that it did.............Not only is there reasonable doubt in this case, most of the evidence points to the fact that this was a political and malicious prosecution.
And if Zimmerman had wanted murder Trayvon, he wouldn't have called the police and SUMMONED THEM, and he certainly wouldn't have allowed Trayvon to pummel him to the point where HE could have gotten the gun instead.
LOL
Excellent factual analysis, Jerry.

He did tell a racist slur into the phone. It's the only evidence whatsoever of any racism involved in the situation at all.

So much of that side is based on wild guesses based on nothing. I tend to stick to evidence in this.
The prosecution is lucky that Martin's text messages didn't get in in that they were filled with thoughts about fighting (you can win a fight by breaking somebody's nose) and mixing various ingredients in an effort to make "lean".
I feel sorry for people who believe it is okay to start following someone even after the police tell you not to, get in a fight with them, and then when you are hit in the nose, it is legal to kil them. It is a sorry statement on the society that we have become.

Not true dmarks. It is based on emotionalism and the discarding of any and all evidence that doesn't fit their template.
Your facts are way off, Jerry. a) It wasn't the police who instructed Mr. Zimmerman. It was a dispatcher with no legal authority (and, again, following somebody ISN'T illegal). b) She didn't order Mr. Zimmerman. She simply said that "we don't need you to do that." c) It isn't entirely certain that Zimmerman did continue to follow Mr. Martin. In fact, he seemingly lost track of him and the episode happened a good 4 minutes after the initial call and only about 100 feet from Zimmerman's car. d) It was obviously more than just one punch in that there was an abundance of evidence (grass stains on his jacket, lacerations on the back of his head, an injured coccyx, the way that the bullet went through Martin's shirt, etc.) that Zimmerman was on his back absorbing significant punishment (the eye witness described it as ground and pound).......And you think, what, that he should have continued to absorb punishment even after Trayvon spotted the gun? The dude passed multiple polygraphs, Jerry. Come on.
He killed a kid after pursuing him when he had no business doing it. He belongs in jail.
And the charge would be what, Jerry? Being in a public place? Using your eye-balls? Getting out of your vehicle to give more information (to the police)? Only screaming for help for 45 seconds? Not waiting until you have a TBI to retaliate?......And what exactly is your assertion here? That George Zimmerman followed (for a couple of frigging minutes) Trayvon STRICTLY because he was black (this guy who has a zero history of racial animus) and that he murdered him in cold blood (after calling the police and allowing the youngster to beat him up a bit)? REALLY? This narrative means that much to you?
I feel sorry that you think Zimmerman is such a fine upstanding citizen.
He's not. But even if Trayvon Martin were roaming around doped up on illegal drugs and looking to break in houses, saw a newly-escaped Charles Manson and then called him a racial slur on the phone, and then jumped him and tried to kill him bashing his head on the sidewalk, even Manson (also not an upstanding citizen) might have a reason to right back against the crazed doped-up racist thug.
Yeah, I don't really have a strong opinion either way on Zimmerman. I'm just looking at the fact that the guy passed multiple polygraphs and that the forensics (his injuries, the grass stains on the back of his jacket, the way that the bullet passed through Trayvon's sweatshirt, etc.) pretty much bear him out.
