On the Fact that (According to Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary Historian, Ryan Reeves) Medieval Warfare Was Not Characterized by Waves of Soldiers Clashing On Some Open Terrain (as Hollywood Has Constantly Depicted it) but Rather by Sieges and Skirmishes so as Not to Decimate One's Forces
This of course ultimately changed as we entered the Viking Age, the Norman Invasion, etc. but, yeah, I gather that during the Merovingian and Carolingian dynasties of Central Europe, this indeed is how they fought wars back then.......Quick, somebody tell Hollywood.
