On the Fact that (According to James Downs's Disturbing Volume, "Sick from Freedom") the Unionist Provisional Governor of Mississippi, William Sharkey, Ultimately Concluded that by 1865 Approximately One Third of the Black Population of that State Had Perished from Disease, Starvation, and the Dislocations of War
And the odds of this fact ending up in any PC textbook or a court historian's treatise is what exactly?......My guess would be zero.
