On the Fact that (According to Countless Historians; Magness, Seabrook, Unger, etc.) Among the Northern Abolitionists Who Supported the Colonization of Blacks Were Daniel Webster, William H. Seward, Francis Scott Key, Horace Greeley, Harriet Beecher Stowe, and Even Thaddeus Stevens

So they wanted them free but out (of the country), in other words. Interesting AND ironic (the fact that such a seemingly benevolent impulse was actually the byproduct of a nasty form of racism).
