That's weird because the General Accounting Office has found that there was between $233 billion to $521 billion annually in fraud from 2018 to 2022 (https://www.concordcoalition.org/blogs/new-gao-report-provides-first-ever-estimate-of-government-wide-fraud/). I mean, I get it that the fine art of investigative journalism has deteriorated greatly and all but we're just exactly for a simple internet search here, hardly a Herculean task.
