On the Total State and Local Tax on a Pack of Cigarettes in New York City Currently Being $5.85

And statist morons like Bill de Blasio don't think that this situation will create a black market HOW exactly?

    I believe that cigarettes should be taxed the same, no more and no less, than other goods.

  2. Cigarettes are like playing Russian roulette with your health as well as a public nuisance. So, tailor made for politicians to target levying heavy taxes on their use.

    In other words try to tax it into extinction.

  5. Sin taxes are much more prevalent in blue states,with some of the highest in N.Y.,California and Washington.

    Unfortunately high sin taxes affect the lower levels of society.

  7. Oh they are progressive in some respects, conservative in others. Like most of us "normal" folks. BTW, I lived in the PN for 17 years.

  8. Correct Lester....but one of the most expensive states to live in.

    Among the highest in sin tax,gas tax,B&O tax,propert tax and almost a 9% sales tax.
