He's been around the world enough to know that the authoritarian, top-down approach of the progressives/socialists/fascists/control-freaks simply doesn't work.

And the countries that rely on foreign aid tend to poorer over time while those that rely on free trade, property rights, enforceable contracts, etc. tend to get richer.

ReplyDeleteLong as the Pope is calling for the rich to help the poor.
ReplyDeleteAnd if he is not calling for the progressive solution: which is for the rich (and everyone else) to pay tribute to the rulers that claim they are helping the poor. And these rulers only end up helping themselves.
Progressivism is a very successful form of economic fascism, and easily fools the gullible... the type who will smile thoughtfully at any tyrant who says "I am doing this to help you"
