"This Has All the Excitement of a Spanish Silent Movie"

What would be my answer to the question, "So, what's you all-time favorite Howard Cosell commentary during a heavyweight title fight (Muhammad Ali vs. Alfredo Evangelista, 1977)?

  1. Come on! It's not like I'm reading James Thurber or anything.

  2. Despite my Granddad and Uncle Don's interest in boxing around that time, I didn't see that fight. I was living with my grandparents around that time and Uncle Don having a house full of women usually could not see the fights at his house, so he would come over.

As for the reference to Spanish silent movies, I am at a loss on that one as well. Slightly off topic but the absolute worst and most boring movie I was ever forced to see was "Age of Innocence.” Not only was it a chick flick it was a period piece set in the late 19th century. I dozed off at least four times and awoke shocked to see it still going on, it seemed like eternity but it was only three hours of my life wasted.

  4. It was boring, double b. And if not for Michelle Pfeiffer and Winina Ryder, I, too, would have probably dozed.

  7. I don't like all the Thurber stories, but the last couple have been quite good.
