And, yes, the cruelest example of all involves the railroading of Eugene V. Debs, a fellow who simply exercised his right of free speech to criticize Wilson's moronic policies, ended up in prison for doing so, and forced to remain there until Harding finally pardoned him in 1921. What a guy, Wilson, huh?
