Seems a bit startling at first, but in looking at the statistics we find two main drivers: race and education. More blacks are in the never married category. Unmarried women with post-grad degrees out number their unmarried male peers quite a bit. Given that marriage involves or in many cases, requires, financial security, people in the subject category seem more independent financially and cautious regarding possible marriage. I know no one in these categories, or would offer incisive anecdotal findings.

The way that I see it, BB, women are just smarter and make smarter choices.......I mean, they certainly live longer for Christ sakes.
