I Think that the Term, Oogaly, Just About Sums it Up

What would be my answer to the question, "So, in a nutshell, how would you characterize tonight's South Florida - Temple NCAA tournament game?"

  1. Characterize it?
..one of the ten games of 32 I
    picked wrong!

  2. I've never heard that "term" in my life. I'd use the "term" booorrrrring.

  3. I had South Florida losing in the play-in game to Cal. And I also had Missouri winning the whole enchilada. Jimmy the "the frigging Greek", I ain't.

  4. I got THAT ONE right, Russ. This UConn team hasn't been right all season. I guess that 3 McDonald's All-Americans, 4 other Rivals hot 100s, and a European standout just weren't enough for Calhoun.

  5. John Myste: I hate sports.

Right on! Watching professional sports has got to be the most incredibly boring things I can think of. I'd rather watch paint dry.

  6. You know what would really be boring, wd? If we all liked the same stuff.

  7. Just a wild guess here but I'm thinking WD was the little fat slow kid who always got chosen last for dodgeball or baseball or basketball or the touch football game.

  8. He does seem to have an unusually high level of animosity toward athletics. Maybe it's because there's a winner and a loser to it.

  9. I'm sure Wd is an advocate of everyone getting a trophy....you're all winners.

  12. I think that Kentucky could probably win a best of 7 against the New Orleans Hornets or Charlotte Bobcats. Kentucky and possibly North Carolina, too. Those 2 will probably meet in the final and, man, what a game it's going to be.

  13. Maybe the best coach in college basketball. He certainly got more out of his players this year than Jim Calhoun did.

Why the hell would I care about that? I don't give a crap who wins or who loses. It's meaningless.

It's because it's boring and a waste of money. In college athletic the athletes are taken advantage of. The college athletic departments make mucho dinero and the coaches are way overpaid.

In professional sports everyone (players and owners) make way to much. And then they get cities to pay for their stadiums at taxpayer expense. It's an outrage.

And why didn't Rusty suggest that John Myste was a little fat slow kid?

  15. wd, a) it's boring and a waste of money TO YOU. When are you going to come to grips with the fact that not everybody sees the world though the same lens that you do? b) I wouldn't call getting a free 4 year scholarship to a major university being "taken advantage of". c) Coaches and athletes are paid what the open market will bear. The fact that it offends you personally is immaterial. d) I totally AGREE with you on the whole stadium thing. The taxpayer absolutely and positively should NOT be picking up the tab for these billionaire owners.
