On Day-Tripping to Beautiful Ashfield, Massachusetts, and Noticing Outside of One Their 19th Century Churches a Sign Which Read, "Immigrants and Refugees Welcome"

 It sounds magnanimous until you think for few seconds and realize that Ashfield is an ultra-rural town of 1,600 people and so there likely aren't many migrants within a thirty mile radius. It's probably unfair to call it an empty gesture but being that I'm presently unable to invoke a more delicate descriptor......empty gesture it is.
