27% of a Loaf is No Loaf

According to historian, Jim Powell, when western and private organizations ran the All Russian Committee for Aid to the Starving, approximately 11 million people were ultimately provided food (representing one of the greatest relief achievements in all of human history) and when the Bolsheviks took it over several years later, that number had plummeted all the way to 3 million, a 73% decrease. If this isn't proof positive that the private sector handles charity better than the command and control model of the government sector then it probably doesn't exist.

On the Latest Lisa, Shaw Donnybrook

As a person who holds both parties in contempt, all that I can really do here is look with bemusement. You have these two individuals who literally nobody has ever heard of digging their heels in, glorifying the particular, chipping away at each other edifice as if it amounted to something. I mean, I know that these things can get heated and that they sure as hell do, but if you have some situation in which a Neanderthal/bozo (which I gather Lisa to be at this juncture - at least to a degree) is talking endless smack in an echo chamber, just don't go to that fucking echo chamber. That's what I do....and I can fully assure you that ignorance IS bliss.......There, now watch, everybody is ape-shit now.

On Blogging Wars

a) It's just politics and b) 99.999999% of the people on this planet will never read a damn thing that any of us ever writes and even if they were to they'd probably disregard is as abject silliness. My suggestion here is that we all, all of us (myself included), need to take ourselves a little less seriously and maybe check out some chicks or something.

On Obama Throwing James Clapper Under the Bus on ISIS

According to ABC News (Jonathan Karl and Rick Klein), it was well known by numerous people in the White House that ISIS had grown in both size and power, and that it wasn't even remotely a surprise that they had taken back so much territory in Iraq. It's a powerful piece and if it's true then this whole notion of Obama's that the White House was caught off guard is pure, unadulterated bullshit and yet another example of a fellow who seemingly cannot take responsibility FOR ANYTHING.........................................................................................And even if he believes his own little fantasy here, why pray tell is Clapper still employed? That I'd like to ask him as well.

On the Fact that that Neanderthal Didn't Just Jump the Fence at the White House but Actually Got Inside and Ran Around Like a Full-Bore Lunatic

Yet another secret service success story?

The Silence of the Doves (Myself not Included)

George Bush was called a war criminal for his failure to get a U.N. authorization to invade Iraq. How long must we wait for those same clamoring leftists to designate President Obama one for his not even attempting to get an authorization prior to detonating Syria. My suspicion is that, except for a few high integrity individuals such as Jonathan Turley and Jeremy Scahill, it is a wait that will probably be measured in years as opposed to hours.

On the Concept of Launching $500,000 Missiles to Take Out a Vehicle, A Couple of Mouth-Breathing Slantheads, Etc.

Yeah, that could add up to some serious cash rather rapidly.

On Marbecca (The Lesbian Power Couple From Germany's Hugely Popular Soap Opera, "Verbotene Liebe"; AKA, "Forbidden Love")

I'm hooked. I am so fucking hooked!

The High Cost of Control

According to Robert Conquest's book, "Harvest of Sorrow", a total of 6 million people ultimately died from the Russian famine of the early 1930s. This is a number that is greater than all of the deaths from World War 1 and it was a disaster that was caused almost exclusively by government; the Soviet socialist government, more specifically (the fact that the government cut prices for agricultural commodities and the end result of this was far less production, the fact that the amount of grain and other commodities seized by the government eventually quintupled, the fact that the government forced millions of peasants on to collective farms where a significant percentage of them were driven into mining and factory work, the fact that most agricultural commerce was essentially outlawed, etc.). I mean, I know that the statists still apparently think that an economy (with its billions and billions of various permutations) can be run more efficiently through a strong central government, bureaucrats, etc. but if this isn't a wake up-call then nothing is.

On Fox and MSNBC

They're both biased, no question about it. But over the past several years, Fox has added Ed Henry, John Roberts, Howie Kurtz, and Maria Bartiromo (hell, they've even added Dennis Kucinich and the ragin' Cajun, James Carville). Compare that to MSNBC which has done little more than plop additional leftist guttersnipes to its already full-to-the-brim posse of skin-crawlers/stooges. It isn't even a contest at this point, folks. MSNBC is significantly worse..................................................................................P.S. And I also ask my colleagues to try and name me one, ONE, anchor on MSNBC who is even remotely as fair as Sheppard Smith - JUST ONE.

On Sanctimonious Leftists

They're the first ones to cross the road when they see a couple of black teenagers and the first ones to stiff a waitress when the lady doesn't smile at 'em properly - the very first.

On German Soap Opera Actress, Miriam Lahnstein

Yeah, I'm driving strong to the hoop with, "New Favorite German Hottie", on this one, people.............................................................................P.S. AND she's 40, so no damned guilt. Hoooooah!

On Nikolai Yezhov ("The Dwarf")

If sadism were currency, this guy (the leader of Stalin's GPU; Stalin's version of the Cheka) would have been John D. Rockefeller and Bill Gates combined. Starting as a virtual nobody, this former "worker" (not to mention, lifelong alcoholic) ultimately rose to be one of Stalin's most intimate confidants and his role in the Great Terror purge of the early 1930s (in which millions of "old" Bolsheviks were purged from the Communist party and countless others were either jailed and/or executed) is borderline legendary...................................................................................A cruel SOB beyond belief and especially efficient in the art of "soft" torture, Yezhov and his henchmen would literally interrogate people for days (rotating in fresh interrogators every 8, 10 hours) until they finally broke and confessed (the upshot of that being a quick show trial and even quicker execution). Of course what was probably the most sadistic thing of all was the fact that Yerzhov would frequently retrieve the bullets from the brains of these people (the brain matter and blood being removed by his underlings first of course!) and keep them as some sort of a sick commemorative collection....Needles to say, Mr. Yerzhov was one of Stalin's most handsomely compensated associates.

On Douche-Bag Olbermann

Doesn't mention his Ivy League (Cornell) education enough.........................................................................................P.S. And, yes, you can obviously say the same, exact thing about douche-bag O'Reilly and Harvard. FOR SURE.

On the American Enterprise Institute Rolling Out the Red-Carpet for Dickhead Cheney

And to think that I used to have a great deal of respect for these fellows (prior to the neoconservative onslaught).

On this Saturday's Florida State Versus North Carolina State Game

FSU should and probably will win, and win decisively. I would just caution the readers here that a) the Seminoles are only 3-5 in their last 8 trips up to Raleigh and b) the Wolfpack is greatly improved from a year ago and have a quarterback named Jacoby Brissett (10 touchdown passes and only 1 interception) whose playing as well as anybody in the nation. I don't know, I just have a sneaking suspicion that this game is going to be a little bit closer than the experts think.

On Mitch "The Bitch" McConnell's Opponent This Go-Round, Alison Lundergan Grimes (A Seemigly Legitimate Blue-Dog Moderate Democrat)

I have no idea what the third party situation in Kentucky looks like, but if the only two choices that I had were douche-bag McConnell and this lady, I'm taking her. a) She supports gun-rights. b) She opposes Obama's radical anti-coal jihad. And c) she thinks that the EPA has gone totally bonkers. And, besides, who would you rather look at for the next six years, maybe more?

On Numerous Fox News Talking-Heads Criticizing President Obama's U.N. Speech as "Not Being Forceful Enough"

Look, I'm not a huge fan of Obama, either, but what do they want the frigging guy to do; foam at the mouth, spit out blood every 10-15 seconds, go all Al Pacino on 'em? The fellow gave a decent speech. Pat him on the back and try to get him next time. Easy as pie.

On Henry Kissinger Now Being 91

I wonder if he's still banging hotties.

On American Foreign Policy, 2000 to Present

Between Bush's naivete, recklessness, and ham-handedness to Obama's vacillation, propensity to paint himself in a corner (on Afghanistan, Syria and chemical weapons, etc.), and seeming lack of a strategic vision, yeah, I would say that it's been pretty shitty, pretty fucking shitty.......................................................................................P.S. And for all of those childish progressives whose psychological well-being seemingly depends on Bush being worse, a) fine, Bush was worse and b) I really don't give a shit at this point. They both were bad and, I am sorry, that surge in Afghanistan was stupid, and the fact that the dude put an expiration date on it was even more stupid....The Commander in Chief, my ass.

On Anne Baxter's Performance in "The Razor's Edge"

I'm already on the record as saying that it's the most under-appreciated Oscar-winning performance in film history. Yeah, well, guess what (and after seeing the movie again), I was way off. Not only is Ms. Baxter's performance one of the most under-appreciated, it's also one of the greatest in movie history, PERIOD! The way that she transforms herself from a young and innocent girl to such a fallen soul is as heartbreaking as it is mesmerizing, and if there's anybody out there who can watch those scenes at the end without a lump in their throat/tear in their eye, they're a better person than me.

On Saudi Arabia Assisting Us in Our Fight Against ISIS

Yeah, it's good but maybe if these assholes ceased and desisted when it came to funding these damned madrasahs, institutions which constantly spew this idiotic and spite-filled ideology, we wouldn't be needing them NOW. Just a thought, folks.

On Why I'd be Willing to Arm the Kurds

a) They're sane. b) They're loyal. c) They're trustworthy (i.e., the fact that the weapons probably wouldn't wind up in hands of al Qaeda, ISIS, etc.).

On Bush, Obama, And the Polls

The latter follows them too much. The former didn't follow them enough.

On U.S. Tomahawk Missiles, Unmanned Drones, Etc. Currently Being Lobbed into Syria

Ya' happy, Senator McCain!!?.....................................................................................I'm also kind of curious as to how the hard-left reacts; you know, all of those folks who called Bush 2 a war criminal for his not securing a U.N. authorization to attack to Iraq. I'm hoping that at least some of the higher integrity ones (people like Jeremy Scahill) will show us some consistency.

"Well, At Least He's Not Douche-Bag Santorum (Palin, Bachman, Etc.)"

What would be my answer to the question, "So, what to you try and tell yourself whenever those darned Obama blues start creeping in?"

Notes on the "Plutocrats"

1) I'm still not entirely certain who these individuals are. I mean, are they simply the CEOs of every major corporation, even those that treat their employees well; Starbuck's, Costco, Home Depot, UPS, Fed-Ex, etc.? Or are we talking more here in terms of the top 1%; all folks making over 300-something Gs a year (people, by the way, most of whom probably went to school for 6 to 8 years, worked extremely long hours to get to where they are, and accumulated a shitload of debt)? Certainly, an operationalizing of one's terms isn't too much to ask of people.............2) And, again, the leftist idiots continue to speak of these economic categories as if they were static. THEY ARE NOT! Close to half of the people in the top 1% in 1996 were out of it by 2005 and their income actually went DOWN.............3) And who in the hell do you think is replacing these folks in the top 1%? People from outer space (as opposed to folks from the bottom 99%)? HELLO!............4) And I really want the folks to look at the age demographics for the top quintiles in wealth and income. By far the largest category is 45 to 54, MEANING that these are things which grow gradually over time and for the most part aren't awarded to people unfairly.............5) And if you really and truly wanted to narrow the income and wealth gaps, one of the best ways to accomplish that would be for the government to ease up on its stifling and bafflingly moronic regulation of small businesses, and to especially make it a lot more easy and affordable to start a business ($500,000 to just start a cab company in NYC, for example). Just those two things alone would help out immensely, I think.............6) John D. Rockefeller, Andrew Carnegie, Andrew Mellon, Walter Annenberg - these men (none of whom looked to the federal government for assistance - a la, Edward Collins, those bozos from the Union Pacific, etc.) provided the U.S. with much needed goods and services, created hundreds of thousands of jobs, increased the standard of living for literally everyone in America (often bringing the cost of things way down), and when they retired they engaged in some of the most generous philanthropic acts in all of human history. If this is what constitutes a plutocrat, count me in...and screw the wasteful politicians (i.e., spenders of other peoples' cash) who constantly try and demonize them.............7) And note to the moron (yeah, that stupid lady schmuck from MA); BIG BUSINESS LOVES REGULATION. They love it because it solidifies their place in the market by disproportionately harming the little fellow (who can't afford the high-priced lawyers and who therefore pay much more for compliance). I mean, I know that you love to intervene and all but, come on!!

On President Hindenberg Offering Hitler the Vice-Chancellor Position (In 1932)

On Jan Garbarek

I'll take, "Daring, Creative, Edgy, Avant Garde, and Exciting Musicians Who Ultimately Decided that Commercial Success was Far More Important and Who Significantly Devolved as a Result of it", for a thousand, Alex.

On the Claim that Since Bush 2 Issued More Executive Orders than Obama, He Therefore Must be Worse

Professor Turley bats this one away quite easily. He specifically (and accurately) points out that most executive orders are actually quite piddly and so therefore the number of them is immaterial. It is the type of executive order that counts and here Mr. Obama has superseded his predecessors materially; essentially legislating from the White House (changing the health care law over 30 times, dropping bombs literally all over the planet, picking and choosing what to enforce when it comes to immigration, presiding over an EPA that has gone totally rogue, etc.). In fact, I might even go as far as to say that President Obama is now close to rivaling the imperial Presidencies of Lincoln, Wilson, FDR, and Nixon, with two more years to go.

On the Concept of Patting Down (At the Country's Airports) 80 year-old American Grannies With the Same Level of Verve as 20-Something Middle-Eastern Neanderthals Holding One-Way Airline Tickets

Please, if there's a more absurd (not to mention, potentially dangerous) example of political correctness run amok, whip it on me, 'cause I'd really love to hear it.

On the Free Syrian Army

I wouldn't trust 'em with a pea-shooter. I mean, you've got stories coming out every day of how these assholes have been defecting not just to al Qaeda but to fucking ISIS (yep, the same exact people who we supposedly have to destroy in the next ten minutes in order to save the damn planet)!! Me, I say, enough already with arming these crazy-assed lunatics/Neanderthals.

On Bombing those ISIS Scum-Suckers and Why I Still Have Reservations

a) The fact (and as I've said before) that we've been bombing that "country" for 25 now and it's still a fucking mess.............b) The fact that we'd be inserting ourselves into yet another intractable and moronic Middle-Eastern civil war - by picking sides, no less.............c) The fact that Syria is still a sovereign country and if were to start dropping bombs there absent a U.N. authorization (not that I'm a big fan of the U.N., mind you), it would probably constitute a clear violation of international law.............d) The fact that it would constitute yet another preemptive military action (yes, they killed two of our journalists but it wasn't on U.S. soil) and do I really need to remind you about what happened last time?............e) The fact that bombing ISIS in Syria would strengthen (the blood-thirsty) Assad and do we really want that on our conscience?............f) The fact that ISIS is much more of a threat to the Shiite and secular Sunni regimes than it currently is to us and do we really want to be doing countries like Iran and Saudi Arabia any sort of huge favor these days?............g) The fact that it will obviously take ground troops to re-secure territory and, being that the Iraqi infantry are a bunch of sniveling cowards, that means us and I really don't think that the American public will stand for it............................................................................................I mean, I know that President Obama is under a lot of pressure (from the public, from the media, and from the usual bomb-first suspects in the Senate; McCain, Graham, Ayotte, etc.) to do something here (with even the usually reticent Hagel chiming in) but I still kind of like the cautious approach (even though the cynic in me says that Obama is probably following the polls here and precious little else).

On Constitutional Law Scholar, Jonathan Turley

Everybody loved this guy when he was criticizing Bush. He was the talk of the town and the man of the hour. But now that he's criticizing President Obama (even going as far as to say that Obama has been worse than Bush and the type of President that "Richard Nixon could only dream about"), not quite so much (The Daily Kos, in particular has blasted the guy - no surprise there). Which leads me to believe here that a lot of the criticism that in fact was leveled at Bush wasn't so much based on what the fellow was doing but more so on the fact that it wasn't THEIR fellow who was doing the shit.......Kudos to Jonathan Turley - not just a principled liberal but a principled human being.

The Number of American Soldiers that I'd be Willing to Serve Up/Sacrifice to Prevent Texas and/or Vermont From Seceding From the Union

Yeah, I'm gonna go with a big, fat goose-egg on this one, people....And only because there isn't a God damn thing smaller.

On the Black Buffalo Soldiers

I could never quite get my head around this one. You have these former slaves who you'd think would have at least a modicum of empathy for other oppressed peoples (the Plains Indians and ultimately Filipinos) not only NOT having said empathy but actually going around slaughtering these oppressed folks. I mean, I know that there probably weren't a lot of other jobs available but, still, plants some damn crops, learn to shoe some horses, anything but genocide.

On the Presidential Capacity of these Two Folks

In the words of Burt Lancaster's character, J.J. Hunsecker, from "Sweet Smell of Success", "My big toe would be a better President."

Judge, Jury, And (Mass) Executioner

Lenin's number one henchman wasn't Petrovsky, Trotsky, Zinoviev, or any of the other usual suspects/thugs. It was this fellow; Felix Dzerzhinsky; a Russian of Polish decent (it appears that Lenin had an affinity for ethnically diverse murderers) and quite possibly one of the toughest, cruelest men in European history. You see, folks, it was this guy who established the Cheka; the no-holds-barred and totally lawless Russian secret police whose whole purpose was to crush dissent and to do so with the greatest amount of terror possible. This "strategy" included a wholesale infiltration of every aspect of human life (big brother on steroids), mass arrests, convictions without a trial, concentration camps, hostage-taking, and of course mass/indiscriminate murder (including the murder of children and the elderly) to the tune of firing-squads working 24/7...................................................................................And talk about a militarized police force (a popular topic these days). These sons of bitches were chock to the gills with such high powered weaponry (machine guns, armored vehicles, etc.) that not only were they able to put down every peasant rebellion (and, yes, there were hundreds), they were able to annihilate them beyond belief. In fact, if it wasn't Dzerzhinsky and these brutal tactics of his, Lenin may not have ever survived and, so, yeah, I guess that you've got to give him and A+ for that.

Virginia 23 Louisville 21

Wow, I did not see that happening, folks. I mean, I know that Virginia is much improved and they were playing at home and all but, damn, I had Louisville (which is loaded on both sides of the ball) winning this one by 13, 14 points. I guess that that's why they play the damn games.

It's a Pinko's Prerogative to Change His Mind

According to Nicolas Werth's book, "The Black Book of Communism", at the tail-end the peasant revolution in Kronstadt (1921), approximately 8,000 peasants escaped into Finland and when the Bolsheviks offered these individuals amnesty, those that did return were immediately sent to the Kholmogory concentration camp on the Dvina River where many of them had stones tied around their necks (their arms and legs were obviously tied as well) and were tossed into the river.......Note to self - don't trust the damned Bolsheviks.

On Ward Churchill

He makes Bill Ayers sound like Nathan Hale, Ethan Allen, and Francis Scott Key combined.

On ESPN's, Skip Bayless, Saying that Derek Jeter ISN'T One of the All-Time Greatest Yankees

Skip Bayless is an idiot. Derek Jeter absolutely IS one of the greatest Yankees ever and here are the hard facts; 3,450 hits (6th all-time), 1,917 runs scored (10th all-time), 540 doubles, 259 home runs, 1,301 RBI, 357 stolen bases, 1,080 walks, a .310 lifetime batting average (well above that of Mickey Mantle and Yogi Berra), a .308 lifetime post-season batting average, 5 Gold Gloves, and 5 World Series Championships. Add to that the fact that the man is a sure fire first-ballot Hall of Famer and you really do have to question not just Bayless's intellect here but his sanity as well.

Hm, I'm probably going to go with, "Because I've already seen enough train-wreck television on cable "news" to last a lifetime and at this juncture I'd rather get kicked in the head by a moose than have to watch any more of such full-bore idiocy/crapolla.".........................................................................................P.S. Russian to the Cash-Register, Literally!

According to historian, Richard Pipes, the total number of rubles in the Russian economy just prior to WW1 was approximately 20 billion. By the end of the war it had mushroomed to over 60 billion and by the end of 1921 the total number had skyrocketed all the way to 2.3 TRILLION (an 11,400% total increase in the monetary base - take that, Mr.s Greenspan and Bernanke!). Please, if there's still anybody out there who doesn't think that Mr. Lenin was a complete and total economic illiterate (a little bit of Marx and Hilferding was the extent of his knowledge), speak now or forever hold your peace (not to mention, your wallet).

Football Player

The University of Miami has taken a great deal of heat for their mediocre defense over the past several years. There is, however, one player who you haven't heard criticism of and his name is Denzel Perryman, the 'Canes middle linebacker and an All-ACC selection last season. The dude has been an standout player since he first got on the field as a true freshman in 2011 (prior to that he was tearing it up at Coral Gables High) and he's improved every season (many feel that he's got a solid chance to an All-American this fall). Too bad for the U that they don't have 10 more just like him.

More on "The Architect" (And by Architect, I Mean Role-Model For Subsequent Mass-Murderers)

The individual who was ultimately responsible for Lenin was Lenin. But a good case could also be made (and was, in Jim Powell's provocative book, "Wilson's War") that if it wasn't for Wilson, Clemenceau, and the rest of those idiotic Allied leaders who pressured and literally bribed the Provisional Government (which actually had some Democratic elements to it) into staying in the war and thereby causing chaos all throughout Russia, Lenin probably wouldn't have stood a snowball's chance in hell of ever rising to power in the first case....Let's just call it yet another pitch-perfect example of the unintended consequences of war.

UConn 19 Stony Brook 16

Well, at least we beat Stony Brook.......Seriously, though, this was not pretty; 223 yards of total offense and two huge fumbles. The only saving grace here is that the rest of this American Athletic Conference (UConn's new league) is also pretty shitty (Temple losing to Navy, Tulsa getting hammered by Oklahoma, and SMU losing badly to North Texas) and maybe the Huskies can win 5 to 6 games simply by showing up. Here's to hoping anyway.

The Last Time that I Went to the Berkshires and Didn't See Some Bangin' Hot Ladies?

Yeah, I'm probably going to go with, never, on that one.

Lenin's Main Reason For Wanting to Exit WW2?

Try, because he needed the manpower to wage war on his own citizens and buttress Bolshevik dominion.....................................................................................Oh, and if you that this asshole isn't in the same class as Hitler, Stalin, and Pol Pot, think again. According to famed historian, Ian Kershaw, Lenin's goon-squad, the Cheka, a) executed 1,300 people in Petrograd alone during the month of September (1918), b) slaughtered close to 4,000 striking workers in Astrakhan during a three-day-long reign of misery/terror, c) massacred close to 1,000 bourgeois in Astrakhan as a by-product of looting their homes (how dare these folks have possessions) and raping their spouses, d) slaughtered over 10,000 peasants in Samara and Simbirsk in a successful effort to crush that rebellion, and e) executed more than 6,000 Cossacks in early 1920 to viciously put down an uprising in the Ukraine.......And these, folks, were just the fucking appetizers.

On the Constipated Mathematician

He worked it out with a pencil.

On CO2, The Planet's Overall Energy Budget, And Global Warming

CO2 represents a minuscule fraction of the earth's overall energy budget and yet we are still led to believe that this trace-gas is capable of wagging the entire meteorological tail. I mean, I know that CO2 is a potent greenhouse gas and all but when you also consider the fact that a) its relationship to warming is a logarithmic one, b) the feedbacks are almost definitely negative, c) it is the warming itself that may in fact be causing at least some of these increases in CO2, and d) there are just so many much more plausible explanations for the modest increases in temperature (solar activity, volcanic inactivity, cosmic rays, oceanic oscillations, planetary perturbations, etc.), you really do have to wonder here (though, no, not really - the governments started it and the "scientists" complied) how this whole global warming craziness started.

Monstrous Lesbian Miscue Numero Uno?

I'm probably going to go with, "ditching the nice, sweet, generous, thoughtful, and pretty lady for the higher-maintenance Amazonian psycho-biotch who you know for a fact is going to give you nothing but pure misery and heartache for essentially as long as the eye can see".......Either that or sleeping with Madonna.

Some Food For the Bottom-Feeder (No, Not wd) to Feast Upon

a) This is the satellite temperature data - http://paranoiacstoogetalk.blogspot.com/2013/10/warm-and-seek.html - and as any idiot can plainly see, there has been NO atmospheric warming for over 17 years now (this, despite the fact that CO2 levels have skyrocketed by 28%). Yes, the alarmists have shamelessly and moronically attempted to torture the data via cherry-picking, the rank utilization of contaminated land thermometers, and the removal from the data of other effects such as oceanic oscillations but the data is the data and those twits were wrong.............b) And in science, when the data doesn't support the theory, you alter the theory, not the data.............c) Yes, corporations do wield a shitload of power. But where do they get this damned power? THEY GET IT FROM GOVERNMENT (big government to be more precise)!! G.E., Halliburton, Goldman Sachs, H&R Block, Google, Philip Morris (those cock-suckers practically wrote the tobacco bill, for Christ sakes), etc. - all of these companies have benefited hugely from government favoritism and it is the smaller businesses who disproportionately take it up the poop-shoot (according the the Small Business Administration, smaller businesses pay something like 40% more per employee for regulatory compliance than corporations and, because of that, corporations LOOOOOOOOOOVE regulations).............d) Anybody who even knows a minuscule amount about the four earth sciences knows that natural systems (of which the earth obviously is) are almost always characterized by negative feedbacks and low sensitivity. It is how they sustain themselves and for a perfect example you really don't need to look any farther than your own damned body. I mean, think about it here. When a pathogen, toxin, or parasite enters your body, are there elements in your body which radically make the insult worse? Of course there aren't!! It's the absolute opposite in fact (fever, excretion, inflammation, emesis, secretions, etc. all serving to make the insult LESS severe) and the exact same thing is true regarding the earth (as evidenced by the research of Richard Lindzen and Roy Spencer which has consistently shown that the amount of radiation escaping back into space has actually INCREASED during the satellite era).............e) Now is this to say that human activity can't has a negative effect on the environment? No, of course not. Plastics in the ocean, particulate matter in the atmosphere, and a whole host of other things can and DO damage the environment and I am even willing to admit here that a doubling of CO2 in the atmosphere will probably cause some warming. BUT IT WON'T BE A LOT (.4 to .6 of a degree Celsius possibly) and it certainly isn't worth devastating the entire Western economy over.............f) Meteorologists can't predict the weather more than ten days in advance and, yet, we are still led to believe that these same moronic climate models (97% of which have overestimated - some of them greatly - the actual warming - http://paranoiacstoogetalk.blogspot.com/2014/05/on-climate-models.html) can somehow tell us what the climate is going to be 100, 200 years from now? That is absurd!............g) And this whole claim (which even our President had made on numerous occasions) that extreme weather events are getting worse and more frequent is utter bullshit (for a fuller delineation that also includes Roger Pielke's recent Senate testimony - http://paranoiacstoogetalk.blogspot.com/2014/05/some-cold-or-warm-if-you-prefer-hard.html). It is absolutely not the case and if anything multiple indices have actually gotten better (the fact that we haven't had a category three or higher level hurricane hit the mainland in going on nine years now, for example).............h) As for the assertion that preventing global warming is more expensive that adapting to it, it is hardly a controversial one in that even Yale economist Richard Nordhaus (a strong proponent of AGW) has posited that the Stern proposal would cost $27 trillion and only obviate the damage of global warming by $13 trillion and that the Al Gore proposal would cost $34 trillion and only obviate the damage of global warming by $12 trillion (and I personally believe that these numbers greatly underestimate the disparity).............i) And while, yes, do I in fact share your trepidation regarding corporate America, those folks can't even hold a small candle to governments when it comes to killing people. According to the University of Hawaii's R.J. Rummel, governments have slaughtered over 260 million of their own citizens and this doesn't even include all of the stupid wars that they've gotten us into. Corporate America, absent the government to bail their sorry cans out? Oh yeah, I'm really scared.............h) And just when you think that this whole global warming hysteria can't get any more absurd, THIS -  One of the bloggers over at Climate Depot did some research and the dude came up with over 30 pairs of contradictory findings from studies conducted by warmists. Here, bra, are just 12 of the funnier pairings; 1 - Amazon dry season greener - Amazon dry season browner. 2 - Avalanches may increase - Avalanches may decrease. 3 - Coral island atolls to sink - Coral island atolls to rise. 4 - East Africa to get less rain - East Africa to get more rain. 5 - Great Lakes to get less snow - Great Lakes to get more snow. 6 - Indian monsoons to be drier - Indian Monsoons to be wetter. 7 - Indian rice yields to decrease - Indian rice yields to increase. 8 - North Atlantic cod to decline - North Atlantic cod to thrive. 9 - North Atlantic cyclone activity to increase - North Atlantic cyclone activity to decrease. 10 - Northern Hemisphere ice sheets to decline - Northern Hemisphere ice sheets to grow. 11 - Swiss mountain debris flow may increase - Swiss mountain debris flow may decrease. 12 - Winters may be warmer - Winters may be colder.............For the entire listing, please go to, http://notrickszone.com/2011/03/30/robust-science-more-than-30-contradictory-pairs-of-peer-reviewed-papers/ - it is absolutely hilarious.

On "Selfies"

Just what the country needs; more narcissism, more self-absorption, more self-indulgence, more self-promotion, more superficiality, more mental midgets preening for the camera....Can you all say, decline?

Michael Crichton on (Global Warming) Certainty

"I'm certain that there's too much certainty."......Well said, Mr. Crichton, well said.

On Anna Nicole-Smith's Purported $50,000 a Month Allowance From that Old Guy

I'da fucking married the guy....

Miserable 20th Century European Leaders - Volume 4; General Douglas Haig (England)

While it's true that there were a great many piss-poor generals during World War One (most of them being on the Allied side), none of them were as miserable, incompetent, and wretched as Haig (a man who basically got to where he was solely through through his friendship with King George V). Not only was this asshole an incompetent strategist who rarely if ever visited the front, he was also an individual who had absolutely ZERO regard for human life (and, yes, I'm talking about his own damn soldiers here). I mean, the guy would routinely send thousands upon thousands of his own men into what were literally little more than suicide missions (almost 20,000 deaths during the first day of the Battle of Somme, for instance) and the only saving grace to the story here is the fact that British Prime Minister, Andrew Lloyd George, ultimately grew weary and wise to the man's idiocy/callousness and put him on a leash.
